Why can't my Xbox friend find my Palworld server?

Your server runs fine and you can play on PC, but your Xbox friend can't find it. This is expected behaviour, not a bug — Xbox joins servers differently from PC, and there's a specific setting that fixes it.

The short answer

Xbox players (both the console and, in the same way, the Microsoft Store / Game Pass PC version) can't type in a server address. On console there's no IP box at all. They join from the in-game Community Serverslist. If your server isn't published there, they can't reach it.

Walk through it

  1. Server online?Confirm it's up first (Tamerdeck shows a green status).
  2. Published as a community server? The key step. Self-hosted, that's the -publiclobbylaunch argument; on a host it's a “community” / “public” toggle in the panel.
  3. Xbox allowed? The CrossplayPlatforms setting must include Xbox. The default allows all platforms, so this only matters if someone restricted it — details here.
  4. Search by namein Community Servers once it's listed.
Where the community-server toggle lives depends on your host. On Indifferent Broccolithe REST API is on by default (verified); most panels (Shockbyte, GPORTAL, Nodecraft, Apex Hosting) expose a “community” / “public server” switch — the exact label varies.
